Before Officially Closed, Immediately Backup Your Google+ Data

Before Officially Closed, Immediately Backup Your Google+ Data - Google finally made sure their social networking services, Google Plus (G +) will be closed in April 2019.

Google is also waiting for users to immediately back up their data in the remaining time available before the service is completely disabled.

This is the last opportunity for users to download their data that was previously shared via Google+ services.

"You can download and backup your Google+ data before April. However, it should be noted that your photos and videos that have been stored on Google Photo will not be deleted, "Google wrote in their official announcement regarding the planned closure of Google Plus services .

Google also provides direction on how to download and store user data that is important to you.

You can go to the Google+ Help page, then select ' Download your Google+ ' to download all data or only certain data as needed.

Here's How to Backup Google Plus Data
Through their official blog page, Google shares how to secure data that was once shared through Google+ services:

  • Please log in to your Google+ account
  • Select the Google+ Help menu
  • Select download your data
  • Click 'next' to select the type of content you want to download
  • If you want to download certain data click 'select specific' and if the user wants to download all the content then you can select 'file type'
  • Users can choose services such as Google Drive, Dropbox and Microsoft OneDrive to store content from Google+
  • Then click 'create archive'

The news about the termination of Google+ services has actually been blowing since last October 2018. Google argues that the decision to suspend Google+ services because of social media services made by users is quiet, in addition to cases of data leaks that also affect their services.

Before announcing to close their services, Google also tried to improve and maintain their services, but problems after problems continued to whack their Google Plus services.

Even Google had a chance to temporarily stop Google+ services in order to overcome the problem of data leakage that could affect 52.5 million users, but ultimately the service that was previously considered to be a Facebook competitor finally had to die too.

"Our decision to stop Google+ because of the low usage and the difficulty of the challenge to maintain services that match user expectations," Google wrote in their official blog.

The closing event of Google plus services again proves that big names in the world of technology such as Google does not guarantee if their products will be liked by users.

Previously the Yahoo giant also experienced a similar incident, where many of their services also had to go bankrupt because they were unable to compete with similar platforms.
